WHAT A GREAT REVIEW FROM THE LAST GROUP

👀 👀 “Me and my dad recently got back from Brookes mere, firstly what a pieceful and beautiful place!! It has to be one of the quietest places I have ever fished. All you can hear is bird life and the odd cow from the farm at the top of the lane.
Starting our fishing for the week we made base camp in the Lodge swim. We thought this was a good starting point, also wanted to take full advantage of the lodge and New facilities, the facilities were spot on, a lovely new shower fitted, decking and bbq area which we used most days.
You will find everything you need in the lodge, kettle, oven, microwave, fridge, large freezer and even an air fryer. Which made our week Very comfortable!!
We landed 23 fish in the end up to 35lb all fish were in immaculate condition!! And look like they have plenty of room to grow.
We moved round the lake resting the main swims at night and fishing the Dam end during the day and stalking carp around the lake keeping them moving.
We didn't get manage to get any of the big ones out but will be certainly be back in a couple of years!!
We want to say a big thank you!! To David for all his help, giving us all the information we needed, spots in swims etc and was very quick to reply if we had any problems and needed any information. 10/10 Service”

Where to start …….

They had their work cut out finding the fish but started strong with a couple of 30’s on the first night ….
From then on they spent the whole week constantly moving , never sitting still behind their rods for more than an hour or two …. Other than to recharge in the evenings

They finished the week with 24 fish

A couple of really nice guys and a pleasure to have at the lake , their fish care was also absolutely spot on 👌👌
We look forward to seeing them again

Slow start to the season this year , we kept the last 2 weeks of march and first 2 weeks of April free for us because we had so much work to do there ( tree work , bathroom , outside seating area , general tidy up after winter ) so the fish have had a really good rest, we did get the rods out on the odd occasion and David did quite well 🎣 , Steve …… not so much …….

This season has started with 3 guys on the lake this week , the weather was up and down and the fish weren’t really showing themselves , the lads still had a few fish but no where near what we expected, they did comment on the thousands of tadpoles in the lake at the minute , that coupled with the abundance of other natural food in the lake , I guess the fish are still not fully awake and are feeding on the naturals as and when they need to , still a bit boilie shy , strange considering we’ve fed them all through the winter on Steamies maple orange and low oil pellet ……. They also seem to be hiding under the undercuts in the banks and proving hard to entice out …….

New group arriving tomorrow and hopefully they’ll have a good week ,most of the fish out in the last two weeks have been 30+ so that’s a good sign at least , 🤞 they start getting on the feed

🔥 💥 Wow , where to start……….. what a fantastic week we’ve just had at the lake , glorious sunshine, longer days and plenty of work getting done all around the lake and grounds

The lake is now ready to entertain our 1st guests of the year on Saturday and we’re sure that everyone will be pleased with all the improvements we’ve made , especially in the cabin, the new bathroom is a lot more spacious , as is the cabin with the knock through ….
The new decking now provides a lovely social bbq area for anglers to catch up over an evening meal

The fishing was slow for the first part of the week which was a shame for a couple of the lads who didn’t get rewarded with a fish for their efforts but towards the end of the week it massively improved, David and Lee certainly got amongst them , the highlight was slipping the armadillo over the net cord at her new top weight of 37’6lb

A lot of fisheries are now implementing a 1kg per 24 hours boilie rule to protect water quality, and to be fair, it makes sense. Too often, uneaten bait sits rotting on the lakebed for weeks, causing water issues like excess nitrates.

Boilies should be designed so that if they aren’t eaten within 2-3 days, they break down into dust, allowing smaller species to clear them up naturally. Would be a game-changer for fishery management! 🎣💭

WHAT A WEEK

Djk-bulldogs New Rambo X Hayley Smith Joe Stocker BGIBBO66_CARPING 29th April -- 6th June

Dale, Joe, Ben & Rambo managed to land 24 fish upto 36lb

It turned out to be a very productive week for the guys, Fish being caught from every swim on the lake with few older warriors coming out. Hopefully the warmer temperatures this week will get them moving up into the shallows.

Average weight was high again at 28lb with several 30+

Trips to Mayenne and Bbq weather helped the guys have a great stay.

Great angling and look forward to welcoming you again.
